The Illinois Professional Series

The Illinois Professional campaign was created by Illinois Human Resources to showcase the value of all employees regardless of classification at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. We value, respect, and support all employees and emphasize the diverse ways that employees carry out and support the university’s mission.

Dr. Stephon Fuqua is dedicated to helping student-athletes succeed, both academically and personally. He leads a team that provides essential academic support and guidance, ensuring student-athletes have the resources they need to thrive. Through his efforts, he creates a positive environment that helps student-athletes balance their studies and sports, ultimately preparing them for graduation and career success.

Recognizing Faculty at Illinois

Dr. Imad Al-Qadi, a professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering, holds the Grainger Distinguished Chair in Engineering and serves as Director of the Illinois Center for Transportation. He was recently honored with the Executive Officer Distinguished Leadership Award, presented by the Office of the Provost, for his exceptional leadership and contributions to the field.

Since joining Illinois in 2004, Dr. Al-Qadi has led over 180 research projects, authored more than 1,000 publications, and mentored hundreds of graduate and undergraduate students—all focused on advancing transportation systems that are safer, more resilient, and more sustainable.
