Message from Senior Associate Chancellor for Human Resources, Shari Mickey-Boggs

The Illinois Human Resources (IHR) Administration at the University of Illinois strives to create a dynamic and forward-thinking unit dedicated to transforming HR practices across the campus. Under the leadership of the Senior Associate Chancellor for Human Resources, IHR Administration sets the strategic direction for the department championing innovation, adaptability, collaboration, flexibility, and inclusivity as core values that shape our service delivery and organizational culture. The Administration has oversight responsibility for the three assistant chancellors and their respective functional areas.

Shari Mickey-Boggs

IHR Administration brings together Administrative Operations (Service Center, Budget and Finance, HR, IT Support, and Facility Management), Marketing and Communications, and the Chief of Staff & Special Projects.

Key functions within the Administration office include:

  • Administrative Operations – Oversees daily processes, compliance, and operational efficiency. This includes the Service Center which provides frontline HR support and assistance with services and inquiries.
  • Chief of Staff & Special Projects – Supports the CHRO and aligns leadership priorities and drives strategic initiatives.
  • Marketing & Communications – Shapes messaging, branding, and outreach for internal and external audiences.
